Pro-Class: Dance Open Training with Anna Cabré-Verdiell Bosch @ Open Source Arts | England | United Kingdom

Anna is a performer; she talks, she sings, she acts and sometimes she dances. She is also a writer; therefore she writes. She studied journalism back at home in Barcelona. It was also there that her interest for performance began. She moved to Leeds to study at NSCD and kept the city as her base after graduating.
An enthusiast of interdisciplinary work, Anna has co-created two collaborative dance theatre pieces, Romeo&Julien and Las 3 Marias. She has recently performed in a restaging of Joan Jonas´s early works at the Tate Modern and been part of the creation and touring of Frankenstein, the latest piece by Cascade Dance Theatre. As a writer, you can currently read her works at the online dance sources Au-di-tions.com and ProDance Leeds. Another of her main focuses is her teaching practice; Anna is highly passionate about the pedagogical task which she is developing with sessions delivered at TripSpace Projects (London) and Open Source Arts (Leeds).

About Anna’s class:

The main aim of these sessions is to play; to not take ourselves too seriously; to access our inner or outer child and, as honestly as we can, bring back that shameless and genuine being within us. I truly believe that great things come out when we are just messing around. However, this will be a more or less structured mess. These three classes will be based on a physical theatre approach. I will be sharing my tool box, with some material that I’ve developed and some that I’ve learnt from other practitioners. You can expect group dynamics, games, improvisation exercises, some singing, gibberish speaking, body tasks and whatever I may learn from now to then.
I am a fan of interdisciplinary work, mixing and matching that what’s at my reach to deliver a message. I would like to encourage those new to it to come and test the waters and those who are already hooked by the subject to come share and develop skills.
Looking forward to it!
