Create your own botanical embroidery hoop!

As a collaboration between Open Source Arts and Lucy Freeman Designs, we invite you to a jam-packed afternoon of botanical embroidery to embrace the coming Spring.

Lucy will teach you contemporary embroidery techniques used specifically for hoop art – an easy to learn, quick and experimental way to embroider.

We’ll cover the whole process from designing, stitching techniques and how to finish hoops neatly to be hung on the wall. Expect lots of gorgeous plants to draw from and plenty of finished embroidery pieces to look through for inspiration all in the beautiful surroundings of Open Source Arts.

This special extended workshop will offer extra time and space for Lucy to help you personally, whether you’re a complete beginner or have had sewing experience before, she will be on hand to advise and leave you confident to embroider independently at home.

Ticket includes cakes (GF + vegan options) and a hot drink as well as all sewing materials, hoops, fabric, and imagery stencils. You’ll also be given a tips and tricks handout with all the info you need to keep embroidering at home afterwards!

Earlybird tickets before 16/02/19 – £35 and £40 thereafter.
