Aire Place Mills, Kirkstall Rd, Leeds LS3 1JL
Open Source Arts are delighted to present a three-week intro to aerial hoop adventure, co-hosted and taught by Lorna Mackinder from Leeds Aerial Arts!
This course is designed to give total beginners an introduction to the world of aerial hoop. Over the three weeks, you will learn basic mounts and dismounts, static poses and rolls in a unique, full body workout!
This is an excellent opportunity to build a solid foundation of good technique in a safe and enjoyable environment, and you do not need to have great upper body strength to begin with – this will improve along the way!
Leeds Aerial Arts was established by Lorna Mackinder in 2013. Lorna is an experienced dance teacher working with dancers of all ages across the Yorkshire Region. As a freelance artist Lorna inspires new and experienced dancers to try styles including Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz and of course, Aerial Dance!
Cost: £36 or £32 Earlybird
Dates: Friday 12th, 19th, 26th July
What to wear: You are encouraged to wear clothing that covers the back of your knees and torso to prevent burns caused by friction with the hoop.
Places on this course are limited so early booking is advised!
Upon completion of this course, you are very welcome to join Circus Open Training, a sharing space to practice your new skills! Held every Tuesday evening at Open Source Arts.
