A special performance you cannot hide from. Open Source Arts will be the perfect setting for this immersive theatrical extravaganza…all will be revealed…

Project Hilts
Project Hilts is a nine-piece Jazz & Grime Fusion band from London to Leeds. Their sets are energetic and danceable whilst displaying virtuosic musicianship and challenging songwriting. The band comprises of three vocalists, drums, percussion, two brass players and keys from a range of different backgrounds and disciplines who come together to marry Jazz Musicianship with styles and influences from early 00’s Grime, Latin, Soul and Hip Hop.

This woman specialises in being a bad ass. On the decks, a flourishing groove bender, off the decks, she’ll wreck you on the dance floor. Her DJ skills and contribution to the Leeds DJ scene is second to none! Involving herself in workshops, volunteering, gigs, dabbling in production and hosting her own radio show called ‘Backstage’ on BBC Radio Leeds!

Brazilian Wax
(we couldn’t do this night without them really). Brazilian Wax is a radio programme and DJ duo dedicated to sharing the weird and wonderful, killers and floor-fillers from beautiful Brazil. The initial radio series took the listener through eras and genres such as bossa nova, samba, tropicália, MPB, vanguardia, jazz and fusion as well as afro-brazilian fusions such as baião, maracatú and candomblé music.

Radio shows progressed to mixes for the likes of Jazz FM and Música Macondo. Meanwhile, Brazilian Wax began hosting parties for those with a penchant for tropical climes and good times. Brazilian Wax have played alongside DJs such as: Mafalda (Melodies International co-founder/Red Bull Radio/Worldwide FM), Tim Garcia (Música Macondo founder/Jazz FM), universally-acclaimed saxophonist, Nubya Garcia and wunderkid selector Minus Kendal (NTS/Party Socks). Having garnered a dedicated little following of party-goers (which even included UK jazz poster-boys, Ezra Collective coming through for an event in Leeds), Brazilian Wax is now ready to help Freedom Mills hang up their hang ups and keep the crowds dancing all night long.
