Facilitator Izzy says:
I’m a dance artist, yoga teacher and performance poet. As someone who returned to dance later in life, I am super keen that every body should have the opportunity to dance!
Having trained at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance as a mature student, I toured the UK & Europe with Transitions Dance Company. I’ve since worked in a range of contexts, from creative commissions in galleries and theatres to dancing at Migration Matters festival and NHS conferences.
I’m part of Yorkshire Dance’s Dance On team, Ascendance’s Dance with Parkinson’s programme and teach regularly at Leeds Yoga. I gig and perform often in diverse settings.
I approach dance as a practice of self care, resistance, creation,
collaboration – and joy, let’s not forget the joy! So please just come as you are.
Wear warm, loose fitting clothes you can move in (ideally with sleeves), bring a water bottle and I’ll meet you on the dance floor!
