Open Dance Class @ Open Source Arts

Welcome to Open Dance Class!

Have you have ever been intrigued by dance, but perhaps felt intimidated or thought you missed the boat? Or maybe you just fancy adding some technique to your already exuberant dance moves?!

Whatever angle you’re coming from, if you would like to feel more connected to your moving body, increase your confidence and body awareness, have fun / get fit / enjoy yourself doing it – this is the class for you.

No prior experience necessary. These varied sessions introduce a unique mixture of holistic contemporary dance techniques, creative movement games and relaxing bodywork practices. Suitable for complete beginners and enthusiastic, curious movers!

The focus will be to follow pleasure and find a sense of ease and freedom. We will learn new skills and movement patterns in a class designed to promote positive body awareness, functional movement, integration and health.

The sessions will also offer a sense of ownership and possibility, offering space for guided play and experimentation, and providing practical tools with which to approach our dancing with confidence.

The atmosphere will be warm, welcoming and supportive, and all you need to bring is yourself – wearing warm, loose fitting, comfortable clothes that you can move in (ideally with sleeves), and a water bottle.

These classes will be facilitated by Izzy Brittain
