Open Source Feasts: Christmas Dinner @ Open Source Arts

Dear Friends, 2019 has been an exciting, inspiring and busy year for us here at Open Source Arts. We’re feeling very warm and grateful moving into the Christmas season, and we want to take some time this December to celebrate the most important part of Open Source; YOU LOT!

Please join us on the 13th for a big old Christmas BASH, complete with food, drinks and frivolity. Let’s feast, let’s chat and let’s have a bit too much mulled cider and get a bit emotional about how much love there is in the room!

You might think that hiring our space and using it for your project was to your benefit, but if you had not chosen to support us by using Open Source Arts we would have no reason for being – SO on that note, please join us this December to celebrate a wonderful year of getting stuff done…. Together!!

We will be cooking a huge feast for everybody and anybody who has had anything to do with Open source Arts on 13th December, and you are all invited – We want this to be an opportunity for everybody to feast together, get round some huge tables and get celebrating. We also want this to be an opportunity for all the incredible little creative families who use Open Source Arts to meet each other over the most common of meeting places – the dinner table, so that we all get a little bit better acquainted with the amazing human beings who make the network of great groups which are doing good stuff in Leeds RIGHT NOW!

We will cook the staples – loads of delicious roast vegetables, three different types of roast potatoes, plenty of veggie gravy and a few extra little surprises – but please bring some FOOD TO SHARE to add to the banquet and make it that little bit more special – We encourage folk to try their hand at making something rather than just buying some hummous and crisps from the supermarket – as it makes it all the more special (but if you can’t find time to make something, please bring dessert rather than a cold addition to the main!). There will be plenty of oven space for you to warm up stuff you have cooked earlier, so please do whatever you feel is a kind and conscious contribution to what is going to be a great gathering. It will be MEGA APPRECIATED!!! 🙂

Please arrive anytime from 4pm and enjoy a drink and a mince pie or some other festive nibble, and if you want you can help us deck our halls and bannisters with decorations-a-plenty. It’s gonna be a slow and social gathering, with plenty of time to chat and gather good merry momentum until we start our feast at 7pm, Children are very welcome too so please come young and old to celebrate with us. There will be a tots corner, the space is warm and clean and safe.

Lots of love and Christmas cheer,
The OSA team x

ALLERGENS
We have a small and busy kitchen and we cook everything in there, so whilst many of the things we cook do not have allergens in their ingredients list, there may be some traces. Most food will be vegan, apart from the turkey and the cheese.

LOCATION

We are located on Kirkstall road in Leeds – a short walk, cycle or drive from the centre of the city – directly opposite ITV television studios in the Aire Place Mills complex, along with Seagulls Paint & Aire Place Studios. We are the first building on the left!

Address: Unit 1A Aire Place Mills, 143 Kirkstall Rd, LS3 1JL

We have very limited parking on site and encourage everybody to walk, cycle, or take the bus (33 and 33A or leeds bradford airport bus 757, please ask the driver for the stop outside Yorkshire Television or Radio Aire). For those who must drive (bringing a broken bike, perhaps?), there is a very affordable carpark directly across Kirkstall Road, outside Yorkshire Television.

ACCESSBILITY

There are two gender neutral toilets on the ground floor, one with improved access. Unfortunately, We currently don’t offer any baby changing facilities. You are, of course, welcome to breastfeed your baby here. The ground floor is wheelchair accessible. The mezzanine cafe/kitchen area upstairs is accessed via stairs and is not currently wheelchair accessible and is something we are working on to make fully accessible.

If you require a personal assistant or have any other accessibility questions, please get in touch with us in good time before you intend to arrive.
