Welcome to the Affordable Theatre Programme!
The Affordable Theatre Programme is a series of performance shows and workshops that are hosted, recorded and live streamed by Open Source Arts. The shows are curated as a blend of internationally recognised performance artists and emerging grassroots artists in the city and all ticketed at Pay As You Feel Prices.
With the new industry standard video, lighting and broadcast equipment that Open Source Arts have purchased – with funding from Arts Council England and the West Yorkshire Combine Authority – the new series of performances utilises the emerging potential of online and blended events to deliver shows to live and at home audiences simultaneously.

Grassroots and DIY events and performances are the beating heart of the cultural sector.
The Affordable Theatre Programme is conceived to platform grassroots artists in the city and foster wider and more diverse engagement with the cultural sector in the city.
Removing the barrier of a high ticket cost, and using a Pay As You Feel method of ticket pricing allows audiences to set their own price of admission and continues our mission of creating theatre shows that are affordable to anyone.
The online nature of the broadcast also removes physical access barriers that come with performance work situated both in traditional and DIY venues.
