Open Source Arts Creative Studio Membership

  • Are you looking for a new home in Leeds for your practice or creative business?
  • Do you want your first workspace since graduating?
  • Are you a designer-maker, an artist, a dress maker, or graphic designer looking for the right environment in which to work?

Open Source Arts provides safe, sustainable and affordable creative workspace and co-working space for small creative businesses, designers, start-ups, artists and makers. Located on Kirkstall Road, close to Leeds city centre, we have a few options for becoming a member, including lockable studios or studio pods to hire, and we have space available for exhibitions and events, to fabricate your work, and to host your workshops.

You can enjoy our facilities from £40 per month – see below for membership options.

Studios are typically open 8am-10pm (10am-10pm on a weekend).

Creative Community

It’s your opportunity to flourish within a friendly and supportive community of like-minded people. We organise artist crits, socials, visits to other creative spaces, member exhibitions and more, helping build a sustainable creative sector.

These spaces are for freelance artists and makers, and for folks working in the creative sector. Interior designers, architects, and product designers all feel at home in our workspaces too.

 

Multidisciplinary and cross-artform

Current members disciplines are varied, including illustration, painting, ceramics, fabric and textiles, performance, tufting, animatronics, lino printing, resin, screen printing, sculpture, photography and many more!

All artforms and disciplines are welcome, and you can be at any stage of your career or hobby.

Our members are the life and soul of Open Source Arts – and the diversity of our skills and range of opportunities to network and collaborate encourage us to look outside the echo chamber of our own practice and make unexpected connections which might inspire our work to the next level.

We support emergent creatives to prototype their work and scale it to greater impact and sustainability, and our memberships help support everybody’s economy, regardless what stage you are at in your career.
