Accessibility
Toilets
There are two gender neutral toilets on the ground floor, one is accessible.
Baby change and breastfeeding
We have a wall-mounted baby change table in the accessible toilet downstairs, and you’re also welcome to bring your own portable mat to change baby within our space (we would appreciate if you could take nappies home with you as we don’t currently have nappy disposal here). We are a breastfeeding friendly space; there are chairs and cushions available upstairs and downstairs to make you comfortable. You’re welcome to use the facilities in the kitchen upstairs to warm bottles or food (hot water tap, kettle, microwave available).
Access to and in the venue
Open Source Arts is accessed via a slightly uneven floor outside. The main door is about a metre in width and 5 metres in height. The venue is split over two floors, with access to the upstairs (housing the cafe and dance studio spaces) via a staircase of 14 stairs with hand banisters on both sides, which unfortunately is not currently wheelchair accessible. The downstairs is wheelchair accessible.
Access Parking
There is one accessible carpark space marked out for accessible parking outside the main door.
Come In and Rest
Older people (and anyone that needs it!) can ‘Come In and Rest’ – a welcoming place to sit in our venue for a few minutes when you need to.
Alcohol
Some events may have alcohol present. There won’t be any alcohol present for the majority of activities. We try to mention this in the particular event description.

Location
We are located on Kirkstall Road in Leeds – a short distance from the centre of the city – directly opposite ITV television studios in the Aire Place Mills complex, along with Aire Place Studios.
We are the first building on the left, and our entrance is a large slatted green wooden push door.
We encourage people who can to walk, cycle, run or take the bus to Open Source Arts.
Address
Unit 1A Aire Place Mills, 143 Kirkstall Rd, Leeds. LS3 1JL
Find us at What3Words: ///struck.events.ridge
Bikes
We have a bike shed to lock your bike, a bike repair station and two toilets for changing (one is accessible). Kirkstall Road has bus lanes on both sides which can be used by cyclists.
Buses
You can also get here via public transport – the best buses from the centre of town are the 33, 34, 60 or A1 Flyer – ask the driver for the stop outside ITV Yorkshire.
Cars
We have very limited parking on site – which is reserved for those who must drive for access.
For those who must drive, there is a car park directly across Kirkstall Road, outside Kirkstall Brewery. From Kirkstall Road, turn left onto Studio Road, then Right onto Cavendish Street (look for ///tribes.vocal.silent on What3Words or use postcode LS3 1JA for sat nav).
We would also like to encourage those coming to our venue to car share and we’re looking into something to make this easier for everyone.
Please DO NOT be tempted to go through the blue gates near Open Source Arts to park. Those spaces are private, and the gates are often locked without warning. We won’t be able to help you get your car back!
Opening Hours
Our opening hours vary depending on activities.
If you are making a special trip to see us outside of a scheduled event or activity, it can be a good idea to give us a call before setting off!
COVID-19
Please do not come to the venue if you suspect or know you have Covid-19 or have been in close contact with someone who has.
Open Source Arts is a large, open plan well ventilated building, set over two floors.
You are not required to wear a face covering, but you are very welcome to do so.
