Thank you for making use of our space at Open Source Arts and continuing to create! We very much want to support local creatives to continue to train, rehearse, broadcast and record in Leeds during the Winter months. We know the value that having a larger space, a sprung oak dance floor, and a different four walls can make!
So we have opened up our venue for arts professionals on a donation basis for Winter.
Sustainability
During the winter months the costs to keep our venue open, warm and clean can be quite high. It’s a large space to heat and there are extra costs involved at the moment with ensuring the space is cleaned more regularly for Covid-19.
For transparency, it normally roughly costs us £30/hr to pay for rent, bills, insurance, cleaning and for the staff member to be there.
This is the estimate cost for overheads of our space, and for the purpose of sustainability we aspire to meet this through donations, purchases and services of Open Source Arts.
We’ve been very lucky to receive some Arts Council England Funding which helps cover some core costs over winter. But as we don’t currently have much income from our usual workshops, events, etc, any amount you gift will help towards creating this sustainability.
We really don’t expect everyone to be able to meet this cost! Any amount you’re able to contribute is really gratefully received.
