Are you a business or organisation in the Yorkshire & Humber region? Have you taken the Yorkshire & Humber Climate Action Pledge?

Open Source Arts has signed the Yorkshire and Humber Climate Action Pledge! We’ve committed to tackling the climate, ecological and social crises and helping the region to thrive and become ‘climate ready’.

Taking the pledge means we’ve committed to take action to help us adapt to climate change, enhance biodiversity & nature, promote social justice, and reduce our carbon emissions.

The pledge is the first of its kind in the UK to require action across the four areas of climate resilience, carbon emissions, nature and biodiversity, and social justice.

Sam, Environment and Sustainability Officer, said:

‘We have decided take the climate action pledge because we take our social responsibility seriously and want to make sure all our actions take social, environmental, cultural and economic factors into account. We recognise that the climate, ecological and social crises are real and demand immediate action. This pledge is part of our commitment to truly LEAD and Let Every Action Demonstrate our recognition that change towards a low carbon, sustainable, socially just world is possible.’

Open Source Arts is excited to be part of a growing and diverse community of organisations from across the region. We’d love to encourage all businesses and organisations we work with in the region to sign up to the pledge and start taking action.

By working together and supporting each other to seize the initiative we can start to take bold, transformative action towards a safer future for all

Liz Barber, Chair of the Yorkshire and Humber Climate Commission, said:

‘We want to see a year of progress that puts us on the road to net zero, improves our fantastic natural assets, helps us build our resilience to climate impacts, and does this in a way that leaves no-one or nowhere behind.’
